Understanding 990-PF

Help > Search Tips

When searching a foundation, try the abbreviation, Fdn. e.g.- Robert Wood Johnson Fdn. See the Abbreviations Used link in the 990 Help section.

Can't Find an Organization?

Private foundations file IRS Form 990-PF. In general, churches, hospitals, schools or publicly supported organizations file IRS Form 990. If you can't find a particular organization, it may be because the organization you are looking for files a Form 990 (rather than a Form 990-PF).

According to the IRS, all information on Form 990-PF may be fully disclosed. However, the IRS has not yet completely defined what information can be disclosed on Form 990. Rather than risk disclosing any sensitive information, NOZA will only post Form 990-PFs at this time.

You can search the NOZA 990-PF Database by Name, EIN, City, State, ZIP Code, Total Assets, Tax Year, or Submission Date. If you are uncertain about any field, you can perform a " fuzzy " search by entering in partial information as described below.

Name
Enter the portion of the name that you know. If this field is left blank, the search will return results for all organizations.

EIN
Enter any consecutive digits of the EIN that you know. If this field is left blank, the search will return results for all EINs.

State
The default state selection will return results for all states. You can narrow your results by specifying a state.

ZIP Code
